Mahindra XUV700 | What Makes It So Special?

The XUV700 was launched last year and got sold out in 57 minutes. Mahindra has received over 50,000 bookings, while the deliveries have not picked up the pace yet. Without a doubt, the XUV700 is an excellent product in its segment, with plenty of first in segment features and an extensive road presence.
It was the first SUV to carry the brand’s new logo; let’s know more about the ultimate SUV:

The other engine on the offer is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit with two power configurations. The lower tuned stage with the base variants makes 155hp & 360Nm of torque, while the higher tuned version in the AX trims makes 185hp & 420Nm of torque. (450Nm with AMT gearbox) This diesel engine also gets four drive modes on offer; Zip, Zap, Zoom & Custom, which alter and enhance the driving experience further.

Feature Loaded

XUV700 is densely feature-packed with various first in segment features and ADAS aspects. Among the features, we have another first in the segment, the popping out door handles which sit well in the door, giving it a neat appearance.

The interior packs a fully digital instrument cluster with a 10.25 inch-screen layout running through the dashboard. The instrument cluster and the infotainment system stand upfront in the dashboard. It also has the biggest sunroof available in the segment known as the Skyroof and a 5/7 seater configuration option.

Mahindra also offers a luxury package with the top trims, adding another edge of features. It comes with features such as the 3D surround sound system with a 12-speaker layout & a subwoofer. There is also a 360-degree camera with electrically deployable door handles & an electronic parking brake.

Safety

Mahindra has extensively focused on safety with this SUV. Adding the ADAS technology with other features such as the auto-booster headlamps is just a glimpse of how safe the XUV700 is. As there is no question about the build quality, Mahindra’s SUVs are built to last, and with the top-spec AWD variant, they catered to offroading enthusiasts

Safety-wise it scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash test, there were rumours about the tailgate negatively impacting the safety, but the tests told a different story. In addition to the ADAS features, the top-spec trims come with 7-airbags, ABS, ESP. Mahindra has already revised the prices, and now the base MX range starts from ₹12.49 lakhs going up to ₹22.99 lakhs for the fully-loaded AWD luxury variant.
